PHOTO BLOG: Nintendo Amiibo Update: The Legend of Zelda Edition.

My Amiibo photo postings over on Instagram have been less than shall we say…consistent over the last few years. This is partially due to a steady decrease in releases for the toy line but mostly due to going outside having become a bit of a worldwide no-no there for a while. Well thanks to a new technique I’ve recently patched together along with a couple of high profile figures recently hitting store shelves, I’m happy to share a few snaps from this week!

But before we get to those, I finally managed to get my hands on The Wind Waker 2-pack from a few years back not that long ago. This was a set that unfortunately like many desirable amiibo became instantly difficult to find in shops and shot up in value pretty quickly on the secondary market.

Eventually a sealed pack was listed at a reasonable price, making my Zelda collection complete. Until Tears of the Kingdom came out for the Switch that is!

Alongside the launch of that heavily anticipated sequel to Breath of the Wild, Nintendo also made the above remarkable Link figure available. This one seemed to have a higher print run as I nabbed the guy without a problem and still see him around every so often selling on average at the original MSRP.

However it doesn’t seem the same can be said for the TotK Zelda and Ganon amiibo. Not taking any chances with these 2, I preordered them from the Best Buy website the day they were announced and they finally arrived earlier this month. They’re both some of the best lookers of the entire line featuring dynamic sculpts with beautifully detailed paint jobs and you could say they really lit a fire under my photo taking bunsens. Hope you dig ‘em!
